Depth 5 in total; head 5. Snout long as eye; adipose eyelids well developed in front and behind; upper lip rather wide, situated at lower side of snout; end of maxillary visible behind and below mouth angle. Scales 38, transversely 13, predorsal 24. Dorsal IV-I, 8; Anal III, 9; caudal emargin- ate; pectoral not reaching dorsal origin, equals space between pupil and opercular edge, with very short obtuse axillary scale. Greenish, shining silvery.

Amoy, Shanghai, Wu gives the length as 145 mm. without caudal.

Snout obtusely conic, shorter than eye; eye 27/8 in head, with broad adipose lids; maxillary with narrow hind ex- posure; upper lip thick; interorbital 21⁄2 in head, very convex. Scales 33, transversely 11, predorsal 18. Soft dorsal and anal scaly. Dorsal IV—I, 8; Anal III, 9; caudal emarginate; pectoral longer than head without snout, with long axillary scale.
Hong Kong. According to Richardson whole fore part of back dark bronze. No spot on pectoral base. Length 178 mm.

Depth 34 to 33; head 32 to 334, width 1 2/5 to 13. Snout 37% to 4 in head; eye 3 3/5 to 4/3, 1/3 in interorbital, adipose lids narrow; maxillary 4 1/6 in head, slight exposed end; lips thin; interorbital 278, broadly convex. Scales 33 to 36, transversely 10 to 12, predorsal 18 or 19.
